Chef Arlene Mead
Arlene is a chef in Carmel, California, where she is an instructor at Rancho Cielo’s Drummond Culinary Academy. Arlene grew up in Dallas, Texas, and graduated with honors from El Centro College, with a degree in The Culinary Arts of Applied Science.

Arlene has been demonstrating her skills, and giving sage advice for home cooks on multiple regional television shows in her home state, including Good Morning Texas, and Good Day Texas. She has continued to her hone her skills, and stay abreast on the ever-changing culinary trends through professional education classes at the Culinary Institute of America, and the San Francisco Baking Institute.

In June of 2007, Arlene released her award winning cookbook entitled “Cooking Bouquet: Feeling at Home in the Kitchen.” Arlene’s work has taken her all over the country, including being selected as a test chef for Cooks Illustrated Magazine, home of America’s Test Kitchen in Boston.

Her innovative ideas for recipe development lead her to create new menu items for Chili’s Grill & Bar, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, and Panera Bread.

Chef Arlene serves as a Board Member of The American Culinary Federation, Monterey Bay Chapter, and is also a member of several other professional culinary organizations, including Les Toques Blanches International, Monterey Chapter; Les Dames d’Escoffier, Monterey Chapter; and The International Association of Culinary Professionals.
